Lots of parking near the river and the (clean) bathrooms. Sign boards at the park have interesting history of that area of the Arkansas River. Not commercialized or touristy. We had fun watching the …Full review by ronniw171

You probably can rent a raft, Buena Vista is known for white water rafting. I would contact one of the outfitters there. They should be able to tell you what parts of the river are good for beginners. Incidentally, if you ARE a beginner, I would SUP at Cottonwood Lake, it is about 30 min from Buena Vista. The river is way too fast for a beginner in my opinion.
