Have driven US 50 from Kansas to Gunnison, Co. and down to Lake City and further South more than 20 times.. The roads are very good. Not sure what your vehicle is but may struggle a little if you have a small car and engine. Just take your time and make sure your brakes, tires etc. are in good shape. I have a V8 pickup and have pulled 2000 lb loaded trailer with no problems. Some of the local drivers seem to be in a hurry but don't let that influence your speed or safety. It's a beautiful drive so enjoy!!!
