This park is high at 9,660 ft and boy did I feel it. I had altitude sickness for the entire five days. If you have any respiratory issues, you probably should stay clear of this park. Other camper…Full review by mysugarpie

Went in early May. There was still snow on the ground in spots. One thing is that we are from PA and had some struggles doing trails due to 10,000 feet elevation. Dragonfly Children's Trail - easy,…Full review by jeff77664

Hi I’m from Southern California and my family is planning a trip to o Divide Colorado for Thanksgiving. My guess is that it will be snowing at that time. So lacking driving experience in the snow. Which route would be best to take? I don’t mind if it takes a couple of hours more to reach our destination. I have considered going through Albuquerque New Mexico and then north from there. Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gina

I would suggest Albuquerque and then north on 25 to Colorado Springs and then highway 24 to Divide as you probably have looked at the map. There is a chance of snow but I would be surprised if you see any that time of year. We spend a lot of time around Divide, Florissant and Cripple Creek and very seldom have had any serious snow problems. Maybe three times in 25 years. Usually when it snows it's gone in a day or so as it is so dry at that altitude. Have a great trip.

Hi, I have reservations for a tent site (walk-in). I believe there is a food locker for each of these sites. If this is correct, is the food locker "lockable" so that valuables co be stored inside while away?
A:

Yes! They provide a carabiner attached to the bear box with a wire to latch it, but if you bring a standard padlock with 1/4” shackle that should fit. We locked in our valuables that way. The bear box we used had a nice shelf at the top for smaller items.
