Kroger announced plans to close its Belle Meade location along Harding Pike early next year. According to a release, the store is forced to relocate after the shopping center was sold in 2023. Kroger’s nearby locations in Green Hills and West Nashville will remain open.

The Kroger at Belle Meade will close Jan. 31, according to multiple media reports. Located at 4560 Harding Pike, the Kroger opened in 1978, with the building from which it operates and an accompanying structure, Belle Meade Plaza Shopping Center, having sold in 2023 to AJ Capital Partners. The site is slated for a redevelopment.

Kroger will close its Belle Meade Plaza location next month to make way for a massive redevelopment project. Why it matters: The project, which is led by AJ Capital Partners, will transform the busy corridor surrounding the intersection of Harding Pike and White Bridge Road.
