Stock markets rallied more than 1 per cent on Wednesday with benchmark Sensex soaring 901 points on heavy buying in IT and pharma shares amid Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential polls

The Indian stock market on Wednesday (November 6) experienced a surge in its share tally following the results of the US 2024 presidential election, with Indian headline indices Sensex and Nifty marking gains.

As many as 41 out of 50 constituent stocks of Nifty50 ended higher, led by BEL, Adani Enterprises, TCS, HCL Tech, and Wipro

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ticked higher in initial trade on Wednesday led by buying in IT stocks and a rally in the US markets. The BSE Sensex climbed 338.1 points to 79,814.73 in early trade.

Among the major gainers on the BSE Sensex were HCL Tech, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, and Tech M. In contrast, the biggest losers included Titan, Tata Steel, HUL, JSW Steel and Kotak Bank

The Sensex rose to 80,489.70, which is up 1,013.07 points or 1.27%, while the Nifty rose to 24,514.35, which is 301.05 points or 1.24% up
