NEW LENOX, Ill. (CBS) -- A person was shot and seriously wounded Monday evening on Interstate 80 in New Lenox. Illinois State Police were called to the I-80 westbound entrance to I-355 at 5:30 p.m. They found one person who was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

NEW LENOX, Ill. - One person was killed in a shooting on Interstate 80 Monday night near New Lenox. Illinois State Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to the westbound exit ramp to Interstate 355 and found one person suffering from a gunshot wound.

NEW LENOX, Ill. (WLS) -- Someone was shot and seriously injured Monday night on Interstate 80 in the south suburbs, Illinois State Police said. The shooting took place about 5:30 p.m. at the westbound I-80 entrance to Interstate 355 in New Lenox, state police said.

Officers responded to the I-80 westbound entrance to I-355 near New Lenox at 5:30 p.m. Monday for a call of a shooting on the expressway and found a person with gunshot wounds, police said. The person later died.
