The No. 4-seeded Cougars and defending state champions beat No. 5 seed Mill Valley, 76-52, in the state quarterfinal at Koch Arena on Wednesday. The Jaguars won the regular season matchup on a buzzer-beater, but this time around, the Cougars showed no signs of mercy from the opening tip.

N’Guessan, a forward who was spent the past three years at K-State, scored 20 points and he was far and away the best offensive weapon on his team. He also grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Hawkins, a transfer from Illinois, was held to five points.
