Apple's latest MacBook Pro sports more ports and RAM for the same starting price. While the base model is short on RAM and ports, Apple's M3 MacBook is still a portable powerhouse.

Compared to the M3 chip, the M4 chip has an extra 3 billion transistors and more memory bandwidth, great for faster processing speeds. For most devices, it also has a higher max memory capacity than the M3 chip. The only exception here is the iPad Pro, which has a max memory capacity of 16GB due to its own limitations.

The Apple M4 chip is the most significant upgrade coming to the MacBook Pro line. As with the Apple M3 chip, the new processor comes in three flavors: the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max. Apple says all the M4 processors will deliver stronger performance and better energy efficiency than their respective predecessors.
