The Seattle Mariners confirmed reports that a long-time and well-accomplished Atlanta Braves hitting coach will be joining the coaching staff for 2025.

The Seattle Mariners have moved closer to finalizing their MLB coaching staff for the 2025 season and could make it official in the coming days. The team is set to announce the addition of two new hitting coaches and also confirm that Edgar Martinez will still have a major role and oversight on the Mariners’ overall hitting philosophy.

Returning to the Mariners’ staff for 2025 are Manny Acta, Tony Arnerich, Trent Blank, Danny Farquhar, Perry Hill, Edgar Martinez, Kristopher Negrón, and Pete Woodworth. Acta transitions to bench coach, while Martinez takes on a new role as senior director of hitting strategy. Negrón moves to third base coach.

The Seattle Mariners made the hiring of their new hitting coach official and made a number of other changes for the coming season.

The Seattle Mariners announced their full 2025 coaching staff on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reported that their crew would include a pair of new hitting coaches to assist in their efforts to rejuvenate their offense.
