Ahead of the eagerly anticipated macOS 15.2 update, Apple on Tuesday released the macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 emergency update to patch a pair of scary vulnerabilities that have already been used in remote attacks.

Apple is has issued what it calls an urgent update for iPhone and iPad users that it says provides protection two critical security vulnerabilities related to exploits of user data while browsing on these devices.

Apple is pushing iOS 18.1.1, macOS 15.1.1 and visionOS 2.1.1 to stop actively exploited exploits. Users are advised to update quickly.

In a security advisory on its website, Apple said it was aware of two vulnerabilities that “may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems.” The bugs are considered “zero day” vulnerabilities because they were unknown to Apple at the time they were exploited.

The security gaps have already been actively exploited in hacking attacks, Apple says. Apple has not released details about the security issues, but they say the update “provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users.
