(Reuters) - The Pakistan Cricket Board has sought clarification from the sport's governing International Cricket Council (ICC) following India's refusal to travel across the border for next year's Champions Trophy, a PCB spokesperson told Reuters on Tuesday.

Team India has not played in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, the tournament took place under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

The PCB was informed that the BCCI has formally intimated ICC about the decision to not send the Indian team to Pakistan.

With over three months to go for the Champions Trophy, India made it official that the Men in Blue would not travel to Pakistan. Pakistan have now threatened to pull out as hosts. There may be a chance of a hybrid model or South Africa may host the competition instead to accommodate India.

Pakistan's bid to host the 2025 Champions Trophy faces challenges as BCCI won't send the Indian team. The ICC favors a hybrid model, but failure to comply could lead to the tournament being moved to South Africa.
