Wall Street is mixed in light trading early as anxiety dissipated somewhat after President Donald Trump agreed to a 30-day pause on his tariff threats against Mexico and Canada

ING Economics estimated that the proposed tariffs, if enacted, would raise annual spending costs for consumers by $835 per American.

Later, Trump, still irate at the Journal, wrote, “Anybody that’s against Tariffs, including the Fake News Wall Street Journal, and Hedge Funds, is only against them because these people or entities are controlled by China, or other foreign or domestic companies.”
