The BSE Sensex continued its upward trend for the second consecutive day, climbing 901.50 points or 1.13 per cent to reach 80,378.13. During trading hours, it reached a peak of 80,569.73, up by 1,093.

As many as 41 out of 50 constituent stocks of Nifty50 ended higher, led by BEL, Adani Enterprises, TCS, HCL Tech, and Wipro

Among the major gainers on the BSE Sensex were HCL Tech, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, and Tech M. In contrast, the biggest losers included Titan, Tata Steel, HUL, JSW Steel and Kotak Bank

Waaree Energies, Dixon Technologies, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Piramal Pharma are among the most active shares on the NSE. All the sectoral indices are trading in the green. BSE Midcap index up 2 percent and Smallcap index up 1 percent.

The Sensex rose to 80,489.70, which is up 1,013.07 points or 1.27%, while the Nifty rose to 24,514.35, which is 301.05 points or 1.24% up

The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 711.53 points or 0.9 per cent to 80,188.16. The broader Nifty rose 223.90, or 0.92 per cent, to 24, 437.2. The Nifty IT index surged 3.42 per cent in the afternoon trades.

Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the green. Nifty 50 closed at 24,213.30, while Sensex ended at 79,476.63. Overnight, Wall Street indices ended higher ahead of the US election 2024 outcome.
