Amid exit polls for Haryana's 2024 Assembly elections indicating a dominance for Congress, Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has reportedly emerged as the top choice for the post of Chief Minister.

The Haryana assembly consists of 90 seats, with the majority mark set at 46. According to most exit polls, the Congress is expected to secure between 44 and 61 seats. However, it’s important to note that exit polls are not always accurate.

The exit polls showed two broad trends -- the near decimation of the PDP, and the BJP managing to hold on to its seats in the Jammu region.

Kumari Selja, a prominent Dalit leader and a five-time Congress MP, has recently hinted that her name would be among those considered for the chief minister's post in Haryana.

All the exit polls predicted big win for the Congress in Haryana. Notably, the Congress is yet to announce the CM face in the state. Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda said that the decision in this regard will be taken by the party.
