More than 180 Palestinians are freed as part of the ceasefire deal which saw three Israelis released from Gaza earlier.

Hamas indefinitely suspended the release of hostages on Monday, accusing Israel of breaching ceasefire obligations. The group accused Israel of delaying the return of Palestinians to northern Gaza, carrying out strikes across the enclave and hindering the entry of humanitarian aid.

The 42-day ceasefire has appeared close to failure since Hamas on Monday unexpectedly announced it would stop releasing hostages, leading Israel to respond with a threat to return to war.

Hamas said it will release Israeli hostages as initially planned after holding “positive” talks with mediators, according to a statement by the militant group on Thursday.

In a statement, Hamas said the move came after talks with mediators Egypt and Qatar, who pledged to work to "remove obstacles and bridge gaps.
