Former South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg, who was impeached in 2022, has had his law license suspended for 6 months by the South Dakota Supreme Court.

The former South Dakota attorney general who accidentally killed a man with his vehicle in 2020 will lose his license to practice law in South Dakota for six months under the terms of a ruling released Thursday by the state Supreme Court.

The South Dakota Supreme Court has ordered a six-month suspension of former state Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg’s law license.

Jason Ravnsborg told a dispatcher he thought he hit a deer on a rural highway when he actually hit pedestrian Joseph Boever. Investigators described him as changing his story in interviews, and state lawmakers impeached Ravnsborg and removed him from office in 2022.
