AM on September 17 (according to the Kyiv time zone), the Black Sea is hosting one carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles, according to the Ukrainian Navy.

A total of 16 Russian ships have been deployed in the Black Sea as of the morning of 14 September, including 7 missile carriers equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total firing capacity of up to 48 missiles.

If confirmed, the attack would be the first on a commercial vessel in open waters since the 2022 invasion, and a sharp escalation of hostilities in the Black Sea.

As of 06:00 on September 16, the military has identified enemy missile carriers in the Black and Mediterranean Seas. A total of six ships have been observed, according to the morning update from the Ukrainian Navy.
