Instead, in their 27-3 loss to No. 12 Ole Miss, the Gamecocks (3-2, 1-2 SEC) proved that they are still outmatched against the SEC’s elite, and that it’s hard to tell how close South Carolina is to elevating because it can’t get out of its own way.
