Samsung is rolling out the November 2024 security patch for Galaxy S24. The update is currently live on T-Mobile & Verizon's network in the US. Samsung has again beat Google in rolling out the latest monthly security patch to its flagship devices.

Trade-in options are available here, although the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra is not listed as an option. The highest value Samsung is for the Z Fold 5 at £480, with similar prices for Google and Apple devices on offer.

One UI 7, based on Android 15, started to leak months ago. However, the timeframe for its arrival remained uncertain until Samsung’s Developer Conference. There the company announced the beta would come in late 2024 with a stable release in 2025, alongside the debut of the Galaxy S25 series.

Both the Galaxy and OnePlus phones are reminiscent of their flagship counterparts that is, they offer similar looks and features on the inside and outside. The Galaxy S24 FE is reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 series, while the OnePlus 12R borrows a lot from the OnePlus 12.

Unlike most mid-range smartphones that settle for a basic 2MP macro sensor as the third lens, Samsung has equipped the S24 FE with a more useful 8MP telephoto lens that not only provides depth data for portrait shots, but also enables 3x optical zoom.

The Galaxy S24 featured a 6.2-inch screen, a slight increase from the 6.1-inch display on the Galaxy S23, with Samsung shrinking the bezels to add more screen space. Rumors tip the Galaxy S25 to have a 6.36 display which would match the size of the iPhone 16 Pro panel. Such a move could increase the size of the Galaxy S25 over the Galaxy S24

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE offers a complete package and tremendous value. With very good overall performance, a great display, and solid cameras, the Fan Edition of the S24 is a flagship-level device that undercuts much of the competition.

Go with the Pixel 8a if you want a compact budget flagship, or the Galaxy S24 FE if you want a larger, more powerful device
