Political leaders call for the resignation of San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus amid allegations of misconduct.

Five Congressional and state leaders from San Mateo County on Monday called upon embattled Sheriff Christina Corpus to resign, saying her continued tenure impacts public safety.

San Mateo County officials provided forensic evidence on Thursday that Sheriff Christina Corpus sent a homophobic text message. Corpus had previously denied the allegations. County Supervisor Ray Mueller unveiled his evidence at a press conference.
