Aug 29, 2024 · There have been made to fit a full size dinner plate and I used this project to learn how to machine quilt straight line patterns. Each one consists of a front and back piece, so 12 different patterns and lots of thread used. I used the same fabric for the back of each piece and three different fabrics for the front.

They are made from free "Manufactures Soft Furnishing Samples" that came from Hana's Department Store in Toowoomba. This is an old fashioned country Department Store, a wonderful range of stock and great service. The fabric is a bit heavier than dress fabric and this makes it suitable for kids library bags.

Pam is a past winner at the Houston International Quilt Show, plus a winner at many other competitions and an author of several books. It gives you a great way to get started with portraits. This is the work of an Australian designer from the 1920's, Margaret Clarke, (1901 -2001). They were totally charming and I had never seen her work before, which isn't surprising because her output wasn't large.
